Electrical and Handyman Work in High Point Homes
High Point's housing stock reflects its furniture-industry history. Emerywood and the streets around Johnson Street hold large early- and mid-century homes where the original wiring has usually been extended in pieces over decades. The result is a panel full of tandem breakers, junction boxes buried behind finished walls, and circuits that share loads they were never meant to carry. Our first visit to a home like that is often as much tracing and mapping as it is repair — we label the panel properly so the next problem takes minutes instead of hours.
Around Oak Hollow, Eastchester and Deep River the homes are newer and the issues are more specific: failed GFCI and AFCI breakers, recessed lighting retrofits, exterior receptacles that have taken on water, and kitchen or laundry circuits that trip once a new appliance is added. In Archdale and the southern edge toward Trinity we see more crawlspace and outbuilding work — subpanels for detached garages and workshops, and moisture-damaged wiring under the house.
High Point also has a large stock of rental and investment property, and landlords call us for turnover work: replacing worn receptacles and switches, correcting DIY wiring left by previous tenants, verifying smoke detector circuits, and documenting the condition of the panel before a new lease starts.
